DESIGN NAME: Xijiu Silk Road Liquor
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Packaging
INSPIRATION: With the inheritance and spread of Silk Road spirit as a focus, the liquor bottle is the carrier of ten important places where the Silk Road passed through in China, aiming to commemorate the contributions made by the Silk Road in terms of global trade development and cultural communication.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This Jiang-flavor liquor package collection is specially designed to commemorate the Silk Road. The core of the design is ten landmarks along the Silk Road that constitute the main visual pattern of the design, and the beautiful silk colors of the bottle. The
ribbon around the bottle body is inspired by the silk and the winding angle of the ribbon is taken from the trend of ten landmarks on the map to introduce the Silk Road to consumers through this design.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This series of products featured faux leather box packaging and was provided with bronze pins and a handle, which conveys the Silk Road spirit embodied in Chinese ancient elements. Its front is painted with the scenery of the Silk Road and has a double inner layer structure, which is convenient for display. When the user opens it, ten landmark scenes in the cut paintings form are displayed.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: XIJIU-Silk Road Liquor was developed in November 2021 in Chengdu, China, and was launched in Guizhou in September 2022.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The liquor bottle is made of polished porcelain embryos with ten porcelain paintings of ten Silk Road landmarks. The silk-inspried gilt ribbon around the bottle body restores the Silk Road route trend. The bottle cap is inspired by the imperial jade seal (the ancient customs clearance seals along the Silk Road). The package has various patterns with respective color schemes to embody the brilliant silk color, and its unique flower patterns represent cultural exchange and inheritance.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The Silk Road is of historical significance as a trade and cultural exchanges important channel. The initiation of "One Belt, One Road" which facilitates global trade and cultural exchanges has shown the world a new look.
CHALLENGE: With the initial aspiration of the Silk Road spirit promotion, the focus of the design is to introduce the spirit embodied in the ancient Silk Road through its bottle design. The product can associate consumers with the Silk Road memory by integrating the major Silk Road landmarks and elements.
