| DESIGN NAME: Booxpace PRIMARY FUNCTION: Mobile Application INSPIRATION: Our lives have changed with the pandemic. In particular, remote and hybrid work models have become widespread and have changed business life. New needs have begun to emerge in the rapidly changing hybrid work model. With the hybrid model, office experiences begin before employees physically arrive at the office. Booxpace, which targets these needs, aims to provide flexible and easy use of hybrid work offices. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Booxpace is an office reservation application developed for companies that have a hybrid work model. With Booxpace, employees can create reservations with details like parking and dining options. According to the capacity in the time period, they can choose, follow the current capacity status of the reservation, and review their upcoming reservations and even see their colleagues who have made the same reservation as themselves. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: After onboarding, home page welcomes the user with a friendly voice to overcome the loneliness caused by the pandemic. It shows 3D model and capacity of the office that helps users to get to know the office and encourage sense of belonging to their company. Employees can create reservations for themselves or multiple attendees. If there are attendees in the reservation, invitation will send to them. Employees can follow the capacity status of the reservation and other employees who make a reservation in the same area. If they wish, they can edit or cancel the reservation they have created. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project still continues to be developed and worked on. The MVP was completed in January 2022. (Development of screens uploaded for the competition are completed.) |

TAGS: Mobile Application, User Experience, User Interface, Interaction Design, Visual Communication RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In user research, we interviewed with the human resources departments and employees about business life in post-pandemic period. Than, we used empathy and customer journey maps, and value proposition canvas. As a result, people needed socialization while worrying about their health. Companies were worried about managing the new work model after the pandemic. We tested our prototypes with users in each design stage. While solving employee problems, we created solutions for companies to add value. CHALLENGE: Booxpace is developed with an in-house volunteer project team. Taking the initiative of the team members was the biggest challenge since it developed on a voluntary basis. With the pandemic conditions, people want to socialize however they are afraid of being sick. Also, they are not wanting to be separated from their pets. In terms of companies, although they knew the company's capacity before the pandemic, the number of people changed every day the post-pandemic. NAME: Booxpace PROFILE: Booxpace is an office reservation application that offers flexible, safe and employee-oriented solutions suitable for changing business models. The whole capacity and reservations of the office could be managed by Booxpace based on the criteria’s defined by the the company like maximum office day control based on a department, a team, an employee or total capacity of a building or a meeting room, etc. With Booxpace, employees can book all available spaces at the office such as location (if the company has more than one location), building (if the company has more than one building), meeting room, dining hall, cafeteria, parking lot, gym, etc. Thanks to the mobile application compatible with all IOS and Android devices, office reservations are made in seconds. As it is a mobile application, companies could use Booxpace as a communication tool with their employees. Through mobile notifications, tips and tricks (like weather on the day an employee booked a slot at the office), events and training announcements or internal announcements could be provided to the employees instantly. Booxpace also provides analysis about the use of workplace and demand for the resources like most frequently used spaces, distribution of people by locations or demands for dining hall, services, parking lots, etc. It enables companies to develop sustainability strategies to improve resource efficiency based on the data. Furthermore, Booxpace has some advanced functions for companies need customized solutions like check – in, panic button (in case of an emergency, it enables companies to determine if an employee is in safe or not) active directory integration, Outlook/Teams integration, and so on. All in all, by developing Booxpace, our visison is to support companies to provide an employee experience supporting hybrid work model which meets the next generation employee expectations and work habits. |
