PRIMARY FUNCTION: Vase
INSPIRATION: River vase is inspired by a blue river located in Suonenjoki Finland. The collection plays with the elegance of the movement of liquid glass that is frozen into a stasis that is fragile yet forever. The rhythm of the glass making process ensures that every vessel has unique splashes of color that mimic the dance of flowing rivee water. Every vase has their own breath. Its a methaphor for a soul of a piece that makes it more than mere interior object.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The River vase is studio made from mouth blown glass. Every vessel has unique water like flow of color. Collection mixes Scandinavian cool with capricious Finnish glass blowing techniques that allow color flow freely within the glass layers.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Studio made vessels are expertly handcrafted in Finland. Each mouth blown object has unique watery texture and is signed by hand. There are soda bubbles on the bottom that react with light. The design philosophy behind the series is to create elegant, timeless and durable everyday objects. The vases gain their value from their high quality and design.

CHALLENGE: The challenge of the design is to create movement of river in a way that it flows beautifully with the simplified oval shape. Every vessel of the collection is unique. Therefore all the pieces created must have the same soul, but the unique charisma.
