RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Monir earrings belong to a collection with the name: "EXO". Exo is an abbreviation for Exotic, and we believe that "exotic" is a wonderful description for Monir Farmanfarmaian. She was an astonishing artist with fabulous artistic taste. Around the 1970s, she visited the Shah Cheragh mosque in Shiraz, Iran. With the shrine's high-domed hall ... covered in a tiny square, triangular, and hexagonal mirrors, similar to many other historical Iranian mosques, this event acted as a turning point in Farmanfarmaian's artistic journey, leading to her interest in mirror mosaic artwork.
CHALLENGE: One of the most difficult parts of this design project was Farmanfarmaian herself! This ring, and actually this collection was a short story of her artworks; Being loyal without interruption in her designs was difficult.
Sanding and polishing was the most challenging step of production. Because of the edges and angles, it was too important to be more careful.
