PRIMARY FUNCTION: Essential Oil Packaging
INSPIRATION: Taiwan, as well as the island nation, tourism is an important income to us, and also it is a good way to promote Taiwan international reputation. Additionally, Taiwan has rich in cultural history and magnificent natural landscapes, which are deeply impressed by tourists who have visited Taiwan. However,it is a pity that Taiwan's characteristics are mostly commercialized, and unchanging on visual and taste souvenirs. Those reasons bring it hard to attract the attention of international tourists.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Tourism is an important income to Taiwan, and also it is a good way to promote its international reputation. Those reasons bring it hard to attract the attention of international tourists.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Drop the essential oil on the diffuser stone, and observe the essential oil winding along with the pattern of the diffuser stone, meanwhile smelling the fragrance. To create a simultaneous memory in two senses, smell and sight.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in Taichung, Taiwan in August 2021. Completed in Taichung, Taiwan in April 2022, and exhibited in Taipei, Taiwan in June 2022.

Essential oil bottle uses glass, plastic cap.
Packing box uses matte plastic outer box, hardcover carton, sponge, art paper.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Through analysis of information, scent chemical extraction experiments, observation of daily life, etc. In every discussion and repeated revision of the design, we make Taiwan's smelling characteristic more idealized. Finally, to achieve having a different from the standard commercial souvenirs on the market, and create the new experience in souvenirs.
CHALLENGE: We frustrated in the development of taste and design thinking at first. However, through discussing with teachers, searching for information on the Internet, and seeking professional assistance, the works gradually moved towards the path we imagined.
