DESIGN NAME: Blocs Intummy
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Educational Learning Toy
INSPIRATION: According to the SDGs no.2 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the elimination of hunger, everyone has the right to have safe and adequate food, but observations show that there is still a problem of uneven distribution of food and insufficient nutrition in society.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Blocs in tummy was created to convey the concept that everyone has access to safe and adequate food which conform to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals SDGs no.2, zero hunger. The main purpose is to educate preschool children about hunger, and learn to share and increase their awareness on food shortage. It is hoped that preschool children can be inspired by playing with this innovative set of educational toys . Geometrical food blocks can be share among children to fill into the dolls with empty stomach, guided by an illustration story book, to enhance the cognition of food sharing and food cherish.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This is an educational toy with dolls and building blocks as the starting point. Through observation and assembly, from knowing different food dolls to increasing knowledge of food, and with the guidance and correspondence of story and picture books, children can play in the context; in the process of hunger, children can feel the importance of balanced nutrition and learn to share on their own.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in July 2021 and was completed in Tainan, Taiwan in March 2022. First debut in Young Designer Exhibition (Yodex) June 2022 in Taipei World Trade Center NanGang Exhibition Hall.

Research methods: type analysis, material analysis, toy type and size analysis, color analysis, cognitive psychology, children psychology, children’s picture book presentation, early childhood education learning goals.
Data collection: 3-6 year old children's toy market survey, children's toy analysis, children's cognitive development, toy safety regulations data.
Research tools: Adobe Illustrator, Adobe photoshop
CHALLENGE: To integrate the profound issues into the language of design, and to seek guidance from the early childhood education profession and tailor, to understand information on pre-primary education and commercial safety products, and to make a set of children's teaching toys which break through traditional education and have long-range planning.
