DESIGN NAME: Embroidery Collection
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Upholstery Seating
INSPIRATION: We inspired from if we want to create craftsmanship on a sofa in a new perspective, how we can create so we choose techniques from fabric work like smocking crafts that require both techniques talent, and delicacy by using sewing techniques, gently pick up the pleats and sew. To create bas-reliefs into various patterns. we used this smocking technique instead of the original hub pulling technique which creates a pattern and details that are different from the original form of the sofa.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The embroidery collection was inspired by the need to present the craftsmanship of sofa upholstery in a new way of the furniture industry. The craftsmanship in the original sofa uses the technique of pulling the hub to show the details of the craft. From this idea, we would like to apply handicraft techniques in other ways. By join in the work by choosing techniques from fabric work like smocking crafts.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: In this collection we create in one and two seating furniture.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in May 2020 in Thailand and finished in December 2020 in Thailand, and was exhibited in Bangkok Design Week 2021.

CHALLENGE: The challenge of this collection is how to join a new perspective of craftmanship in upholstery furniture. We use craftmanship from other idea likes smocking detail in fashion industry to combine with traditional upholstery technique to create new pattern on this collection.
