| DESIGN NAME: Kaif Burger PRIMARY FUNCTION: Restaurant INSPIRATION: The architects from Archpoint bureau created Kaif Burger as the first flagship site of the new burger joint chain for famous Russian rap artist Morgenstern. In design the architects followed his provocative behaviour. As the result, they have found a daring combination of luxury, contemporary art and quality fast food. They decomposed the image of the rapper into atoms and assembled from them a dynamic and fashionable design, aimed not only at the artists fans. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The interior of Kaif Burger indulges quests into the provocative world of Morgenstern music. Giant digital screens display not only current menu but also the crops of his musical videos. The sense of grotesque is also can be found in art-objects. One million dollar bill with the portrait of rapper is printed on the wall with 3D printer, deformed metal counter strapped with sling belts looks like it is suffering under invisible pressure. The art theme is supported by a large piece of stainless steel - bubble gum installation. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Kaif Burger is a trendy place with dynamic interior that focuses on fast food. The burger joint is supposed to be crowded, that is why the architects provided the distribution of flows via different doors for entrance and exit. The idea of motion is reflected by giant digital screens. The menu and provocative music videos of Morgenstern are being displayed on them. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was started in June of 2021 and finished in September 2021. Kaif Burger locates in the historical centre of Moscow on the ground floor of historical building on Nikolskaya Street. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The floor is paved with gray and white terrazzo tiles, but instead of the classic patterns there are the logo and the inscription One Million Burgers depicted on the floor. On the minimalistic concrete walls there are installations and paintings of contemporary artists. The main feature of the design is a deformed metal counter strapped with sling belts. All pieces of furniture here are made-to-order including the concrete sink. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Deformed metal counter is 6775*900*950h. The total space of the dining area is 60 sq.m. Ceiling height is 4 meters. The total square of digital displays is 20 sq.m. TAGS: Burger, Morgenshtern, Rap, Music, Steel, Shoking, Art elements RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The space inside is designed in the mix of contemporary and street art. First of all, the architects tried to analyse the creativity of popular Russian rap artist Morgenstern and convey his message into the interior. The art objects including deformed metal counter, large stainless steel bubble gum installation or huge dollar bill reflect the idea of grotesque. For crowded burger joint the architects provided separated doors and special seating area. The tables resembling a bar counter on two legs are surrounded by black minimalistic leather benches. CHALLENGE: The space of the burger joint is limited, only 60 square meters for visitors, so the architects used every centimeter of interior (they also organised the loft for cooking area). The main art object is deformed metal counter. The architects found the way how to give an appropriate form for the steel.
