| DESIGN NAME: First Digital Trust Office PRIMARY FUNCTION: Interior Design INSPIRATION: Inspired by the company core business in the blockchain industry and digital assets, it is to proposed a new generation office design with solutions evolving from pandemic situation moving towards new workplace culture and equipping the office with latest hardware to facilitate the company business development in the blockchain industry. NFT art gallery, zoom room, phone booths and open plan office with individual platform workstations and hot desks are examples of the innovative design highlights. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The design emphasizes fluidity and simplicity in the office circulation and cleverly fulfilling client request to separate two companies staff area but being able to share the common area facilities at the same time. The office layout was carefully planned in such a way that there is a clear demarcation between the public guest area and general staff area, with the public guest area acting as a connector to link up and separate the two companies staff working area at the same time. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This is an interior design that represents how workplace should be in this new era. Different from traditional office, the design has incorporated elements like zoom room, digital art gallery, phone booths, hot desks to cater the changing demand in office culture. The design used simple material such as timber, stone, concrete plus the company corporate blue as highlight, adding an energetic yet professional image to the design. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The whole office design uses natural material such as stone, wood, charcoal grey metal with a touch of the company corporate colour blue to presents the companies energetic and yet professional image. The design also pay tribute this iconic office tower designed by Paul Rudolph in the 80s by keeping all hexagonal columns of the floor plate in a fair-faced concrete finish. While for other parts, round fillet corner and sleek fluid geometry were used in the detail articulation. The design displayed a contrast of the old and new which echoes with First Digital business idea. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The office is located in Lippo Center Hong Kong with floor area of approximately 1100sqm. When guests arrived to office, they were welcomed by a spacious gallery-like waiting area. The waiting area also serves as a NFT art gallery, show-casing some of the hottest collections of the market. A Zoom room is especially designed and equipped in view of increasing demand of web meetings under the pandemic. Another highlight of the design is the pantry area where staff and guests could enjoy the magnificent Hong Kong skyline as the background. NAME: Kirin+Lab PROFILE: Kirin+Lab has a passion in all things design. Engaged in projects of all scales including Architecture / Interior design / Media-art /3D printing /Sculpture art and Virtual reality (VR). Founder Kirin Leung is an new generation award-winning designer ,sculpture artist and interior design lecturer at Hong Kong design institute (HKDI) . He founded the Kirin+Lab in 2010 as a multidisciplinary design studio with architecture interior and mixed media art. Kirin was a winner of the 40 under 40 awards in 2016. He work has won the Gold award of A design award, High Commendation award of 2015 furniture design Competition organized by RIBA and the Grand Prize of the MTR Tiara Sculpture competition 2014 . |
