PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Rare Irish Whiskey Packaging

INSPIRATION:
The Emerald Isle Collection represents a combination of the iconic characteristics of Faberge's heritage, and the rich narrative of the natural and mythological isle of Ireland, woven into a one-of-a-kind inimitable whiskey and luxury experience. A statement of whiskey, art and craftsmanship. A symbol synonymous with Faberge, the iconic egg shape is used as a design accent throughout the entire collection, while the opulent coloured gemstones reflect Ireland's traditions and natural beauty.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The Emerald Isle Collection is a timeless art statement that merges the rarest Irish whiskey in the world with the iconic heritage of jewellery creations from Faberge. Seven iconic places in Ireland were chosen as the inspiration for the bespoke details that are subtly crafted into the collection's packaging. With a twist of Irish tradition, The Emerald Isle Collection is a uniquely time-defying celebration of the luxury, colour and boldness of the rarest Irish whiskey ever created.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
Open the clasps in the display case and remove the lid by the upper leather handle. In order to interact with the box, open the back latch, remove the key, unlock the box from the upper lock, and open the doors. The lights will automatically turn on. Use the key in the whiskey bottle neck to open the side compartments leading to the Faberge products. Below, a push-to-open drawer reveals the tasting set and exclusive Cohiba cigars and humidor, providing the perfect experience.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
Designed between March 2020 and January 2021, and firstly launched at a private auction in February 2021 where it sold for over 2 Million USD, breaking the world record for the most expensive whiskey ever sold. Each of the 7 units has been being manufactured one by one and selling for record-breaking prices ever since, reaching above the 4 Million USD mark.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
Design, technology and craftmanship meet the highest of standards in order to bring together The Emerald Isle collection. Each box features a unique geometric illustration, etched into the polished walnut in solid brass string. At the centre is an egg-shaped opening, decorated with cabochon emeralds, which locks from the top. Behind, two latched medallions initiate the revealing of the secrets behind the doors, with the key and lighting controls that begin the immersive experience.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
Display Case: 500W x 400D x 450H The Emerald Isle Box: 420W x 310D x 350H The Emerald Isle Set is composed by two boxes: whereas the main box, in walnut and golden details sets the mood and the interaction with the exclusive products inside, each set is accompanied by a transit/display case, with a clear display and a solid walnut base, powered by batteries with LED channels providing self-illumination to the products in a museum-like display.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
The R&D stages for the development of The Emerald Isle were based on two different approaches. 1) In creating and finishing the oldest, rarest, triple distilled, triple barrelled Irish whiskey ever created. 2) in providing for such rarity, the most exclusive and luxurious packaging, immersive experience and interaction that has ever been created. All the finest details of luxury, craftsmanship, technology and display have merged together in order to create a uniquely, timelessly designed product.

CHALLENGE:
The main challenge in creating The Emerald Isle was to create something so unique, so luxurious, that would take the whiskey and luxury markets by storm. The materials had to be the absolute best, applied with jewellery precision, in intertwining gemstones, natural wood and gold, creating at the same time, a truly immersive and meaningful experience for any of the exquisite 7 owners of this rarest of products. The challenge of merging art, jewellery, craft and design into one creation.

The Craft Irish Whiskey Co. (CIWC) was founded with a clear intention to exploit the rapid evolution of the global Irish whiskey market by creating a range of premium and ultra-premium Irish whiskeys. The dramatic growth of the Irish whiskey market over the last twenty years has led to consumer reappraisal of the category, leaving the premium end under-served. Similarly, traditional whiskey companies have not seized modern marketing techniques despite the rapid penetration of brown spirits amongst the 25-45 year-old category. CIWC aims to meet this market need, offering high-quality whiskeys sold as rare and collectible releases.
