| DESIGN NAME: Smart Charging PRIMARY FUNCTION: Electric Vehicle Service INSPIRATION: As the electric vehicle has become the development trend of the global automotive industry. many countries have released policies to promote electric vehicle development. China is seeing a significant increase of electric vehicle. the number of which rose to 5 million by 2020 and to 8 million by the end of 2021. electric vehicle users have power concerns due to imperfect supporting facilities and user experience. Baidu Map app provides matching trip experience services to help to relieve battery power anxiety as well as assure trips for users. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Users can search and view the information of charging stations nearby in Baidu Map app. The Map displays the panoramic pictures as well as the charging state of each charger. to help users quickly find chargers. It also provides users with the real time power information and charging station services when users travel. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: 1.Add a charging map at the home page. to show neighboring charging stations and reveal detailed charging information. 2.Create vehicle-specific information cards to improve the full end perception of electric vehicle users 3.Recommend cards at the home page for commuting. short and long journeys of users. and reveal information on charging stations during destination search and route planning. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Launched in China in February 2021. it is still going. The team members were based in Beijing. China. CHALLENGE: Combining map navigation and charging station services. Baidu Map app creates better user experience. It shows the information on power and charging stations nearby in users trip. and suggests different states of chargers with different colors on the screen.
