DESIGN NAME: InnoSquare
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Business Centre
INSPIRATION: Revolving around the overall theme of the tree trunk, the spatial planning and material application of the facility at once embody important notions of organic growth, branching out and sustainability. They not only refresh the contemporary workplace into a youthful and human-centric coworking base but also contribute to a multi-tenant office and various multifunctional areas for cross-cultural exchanges, collaboration, presentations, conferences, exhibitions, as well as MICE events.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The business centre is aesthetically designed with the conceptual pivot of the tree trunk. The tree itself is part of the natural habitat, comparing it to the facility reinforces the objective to build a self-sustained ecosystem of professional talents in the long term. This also sees the use of wood skin wall panels with stainless steel and the minimal use of stone, aiming to create a luxe and sustainable finishing, yet projecting an evergreen appearance.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The business centre is thoughtfully designed and divided into 5 major areas: the breakout area, coworking space, multifunction rooms, premier offices and studio to cater to the working style and needs of modern young executives. With the adjacency to the pantry, the breakout area along the windows with open desks and the coffee island offers a handy but cosy corner for come-and-go meetings, casual presentations, or even a quick bite. Next to the breakout area and pantry comes the coworking space with flexible work stations, private enclosed cubicles with wall graphics of the Lion Rock Mountain that represent the spirit of Hong Kong, and 7 meeting rooms, each with a unique extended conceptual pattern of the tree, though in colours of blue, white and grey to highlight the techy nature of both the facility and its tenants.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in January 2021 and finished in April 2021 in Hong Kong

CHALLENGE: To create a contemporary facility that proactively practises such sustainability principles, we have placed much effort into the sourcing of eco-friendly materials. Not only the carpet covering the 2/F floor space has 0 carbon footprint, and the wallpaper is made of recycled material waste, but even its transportation has been meticulously monitored to achieve 0 carbon footprint. For the improvement of indoor air and taking the wellness of the tenants as our priority, living organic mosses have been ordered from Finland as they have the functions of noise cancellation and chemicals absorption within the space.
