| DESIGN NAME: Exquisite Wood PRIMARY FUNCTION: Bookshelf INSPIRATION: Inspired by Chinese furniture, this multifunctional shelf is made with a dignified and simple overall shape and a combination of square and round, but the overall shape is not too solemn and rigid. Some parts are connected by tenon and mortise structure. The components of the overall design are connected by butterfly screws. Solid wood and metal materials are matched with each other, and the bookcase is dignified and modern. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The shelf is made of elm with thick, heavy and simple appearance. It is connected with metal connectors on the basis of mortise and tenon structure. The bookshelf can be disassembled and assembled by itself. The components are made of elm straight materials to reduce material loss. The metal connectors are butterfly screws. The overall design is convenient for production and transportation and disassembly and assembly by users, Add modern semantics while alleviating boredom. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: It is mostly used for placing articles and books. The bookshelf is made of straight materials and plates, which is relatively light and convenient for disassembly and assembly. The bookshelf is equipped with partitions for book classification and easy sorting. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The design had started in Shenyang in March 2021, completed in Shenyang in June 2021, and displayed in the museum of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in Shenyang in June in 2021. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The whole furniture is connected with metal connectors. Butterfly screws are convenient for manual DIY assembly. Some details are inserted with tenon and mortise structure. The applied tenon and mortise structure appears in the simplest form of insertion. Most of them are straight wood, which are processed by NC engraving and milling. The parts are simple and convenient for transportation, and the overall structure is stable. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 1500mm x 4500mm x 1900mm, The mortise and tenon structure used in the solid wood part is in the form of interleaving, and the required wood is straight. It is carved and milled by mechanical numerical control. The overall design is assembled with metal butterfly screws, which is convenient for personal assembly and long-distance transportation, saves processing cost, and is suitable for mass production. The butterfly screw connection has strong stability. The overall style has industrial atmosphere, strong functionality and simple structure. CHALLENGE: On the basis of retaining Chinese elements, butterfly screws are used as ornaments, which not only retains the elegant and simple style of Chinese furniture, but also does not appear too heavy. On the basis of meeting the functional requirements, tenon and mortise structure is applied, and the disassembly structure is more convenient for transportation and assembly.
