Showroom

INSPIRATION:
Each piece of stone must be compressed and pushed by various rock formations in order to form various colorful and rich marble materials. The various expressions presented by each stone symbolize the different background stories they have experienced. Arrange all kinds of stones in every corner of the space, so that customers can find their own unique stones in the process of walking around the showroom.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The texture of each piece of stone is unique. Chenhow Marble has always been determined to combine luxury stone with art. The designer uses a variety of stones with rich colors as the artistic display of the stone exhibition hall. In traditional oriental culture, ocean currents symbolize the flow of wealth. The office is distributed in the ceiling with streamline shaped light, presenting the image of ocean flow, and also symbolizing the flow of money driven by stone.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
In the past, most of the offices of the stone factory were set up in the hidden space inside the factory. The designer moved the office to the entrance of the factory. This enables the staff to serve customers more immediately, and to show the public how to use stone in interior decoration in a clearer way. The office design is like a high-end reception hall. The luxury stone materials that Chenghow is best at are cleverly arranged in the space, making the experience of purchasing stone more noble and comfortable.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
Started in March 2020 and finished in July 2020 in Taiwan Kaohsiung

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
Using the color and pattern of the marble itself as the main material of the space, with the lighting configuration of spotlights. The space presents a quiet and gorgeous atmosphere like a museum. The curved golden iron pieces outline the frame of the office, and the visual imagery of the ceiling shape of the curved streamlined light strip is used to gather the visual image, presenting a precious feeling like a luminous treasure chest in the ocean current.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
Kaohsiung is a coastal city. Chenhow marble, as the first brand to establish a luxury stone factory in the city, has the great significance of establishing a connection with the place. The designer integrates the special emotion and subsidiary meaning of oriental people towards marble into the space design. Connecting the corridor from the entrance to the office space with the streamline shape of the ocean current, symbolizing the auspicious image of rolling money. Echoing the image of boats mooring in Kaohsiung Port, the office space is framed with golden curved iron pieces, showing rich harvest of Kaohsiung.

CHALLENGE:
In the past, most of Taiwan stone exhibition centers were concentrated in Taipei. Chenhow Marble is the first luxury marble brand to enter Kaohsiung. How to recommend marble like a work of art to the pragmatic Kaohsiung people is a major challenge. Compared with the low-key luxury of the Taipei Main Building, Chenhow Marble Kaohsiung Branch adopts an arc shape, echoing the port city image of Kaohsiung, as if a large ship drifting in the ocean currents enters the port. The designer hopes to bring a marble collection hall belonging to the Kaohsiung people with a design closer to local characteristics.
