| DESIGN NAME: Waltz PRIMARY FUNCTION: Reception Center INSPIRATION: The 115 square meters mixed-style commercial space is the reception hall of an optical technology company. We used blue, green, and white as the dominant color, and added elements such as wood tone and plant walls combined with arc and curved shape surface design, creating a fresh and positive corporate image, and with the loft space added into the original structure, creating more space, containing a variety of rich functions. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Stepping into the room, the large floor-to-ceiling windows bring in abundant lighting, depicting a bright and transparent aura. The geometric figure-design walls decorated with sky blue and green plants added a slight lively atmosphere into the space delicately. Using wooden elements to connect floors and walls creates a relaxing and healing vibe like walking in a forest, breaking the technology industry's traditional impression. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: As the first impression, the reception counter presents harmonious hospitality through the arc-shaped design creates an innovative modern style through the built-in curved glass in the middle. As the pure white extends upwards, the spiral staircase is drawn with smooth curves through meticulous craftsmanship, replacing the cumbersome presence of ordinary stairs. The lower space under the stairs is also planned as a conference room so that there are more private spaces in the reception center that can be used for meetings and discussions. On the second floor, the height of the space and the arc-shaped sofa creates a discussion space with a different atmosphere, which can also be used as guests waiting, resting, or group gatherings space. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The design is based on arc shape materials, such as arc structure loft space, spiral stairs, an eye shape wall, arc shape furniture, arc lamps, etc. Combing furniture and structures' style to achieve consistency in the overall space. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Indoor Area: 115 square meters Space Height: 4.8 meters TAGS: eye, nature, plants, woodland, reception center RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The brand of this contact lens technology company wishes to combine technology with nature's elements to bring a relaxing and pleasant workspace for employees or manufacturers who visits. Similar to other well-known tech companies, we wish to create an environment that allows employees and business associates to be comfortable and relaxed. Therefore, we decorated some of the concrete walls with wooden elements and natural environment color paints to create a distinctive feature for the main visual. The ceiling was installed with custom-made arc lights, which cleverly matched with the loft space, the spiral stairs, and the curved glass used as the partition for the conference room. Customized curved furniture with wood grain and plants makes people linger in this interesting and comfortable hall space. CHALLENGE: Due to this case is a renovation of an old traditional technology company, it will increase the difficulty of many on-site surveys when evaluating the structure and water-cooled air-conditioning system. Many parts of the old structures need to be dismantled before evaluating some designing ideas' feasibility.
