DESIGN NAME: VitaFlow Liberty Valve System
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Treatment For Aortic Stenosis
INSPIRATION: Aortic stenosis is one of the most common and serious
valvular diseases. Transcatheter aortic valve implantation
(TAVI) as a clinical interventional therapy, provides an ideal alternative treatment for critically ill patients with aortic stenosis who can not tolerate valve replacement through surgical means. With the increasing aging of the population and the expansion of the TAVI indications.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) as a clinical interventional therapy, provides an ideal alternative treatment for critically ill patients with aortic stenosis who can not tolerate valve replacement through surgical means. VitaFlow Liberty features retrievability and repositioning, enabling deployment and retrieval of the valve in a stable, accurate and fast manner, which will better benefit the patients. At present, it is the only motorized retrievable system in the world
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Product system consisting of delivery handle and implant. The design style of the handle is simple, the function arrangement is easy to understand and easy to operate, the key keys are considered to prevent misuse.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: It took 5 years of R&D and design process in Shanghai.
FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Medical Devices and Medical Equipment Design
