DESIGN DETAILS
DESIGN NAME:
Vento

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
High Stool

INSPIRATION:
This high stool has a dynamic, organic form. The lines of the legs are inspired by an animal that kicks its way through the ground, and the thin seat is inspired by standing hair that flutters in the wind.It is a high stool that makes you look beautiful, as if you were sitting on the back of a supple animal running at full speed.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The design emphasizes the supple lines of the product through its simple, waste-free construction. The contrast between the organic lines and the heavy luster of the metal is striking. When placed alone, it has the beauty of a sculpture, and when multiple pieces are placed, it has the beauty of regularity like an architectural structure.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
It is made so that you can feel the elasticity of the metal as it sinks when a person sits on it. The legs are cut out of metal sheets, so they are sturdy and have moderate weight. While it looks light, it has a low center of gravity and a sense of stability.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
Designed in 2020, prototype produced in 2021.

FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY:
Furniture Design

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
The legs are made of 6mm metal plate, and the seat is made of 3mm stainless steel plate, cut by advanced laser cutting technology. 2 frames are connected by round pipes and fixed with decorative nuts. The seat is made of bent stainless steel sheet and upholstered with leather. The advanced metal laser cutting technology has succeeded in presenting a beautiful frame.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
Width 356mm, Depth 445mm, Height 808mm The two cut-out frames are fixed with round pipes and decorative nuts. Simple assembly makes it possible to deliver in a compact package.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
A high stool has a high seat, which gives a light tension to the person sitting on it and attracts attention from others. I believe that a high stool needs to have a sculptural beauty of its own. I created a high stool that is beautiful just by sitting on it.

CHALLENGE:
I propose a new style of "show frame" by cutting out a sheet of metal. Our advanced metal laser cutting technology has made it possible to create a "show frame.

I'm so impressed by the design of this high stool! The combination of its elegant curves and minimalistic aesthetic create a timeless piece that would look great in any contemporary room. The use of materials is also incredible, with the combination of wood and metal being so subtle yet so effective. It's a piece of furniture that I can imagine lasting for generations. I'm thrilled to see such a fantastic example of furniture design, and I'm sure the creator of this piece is just as delighted with the recognition they have received. Congratulations Hitoshi Motomura!

I was immediately captivated by the organic and dynamic form of "Vento", the high stool designed by Hitoshi Motomura. The lines of the legs are so graceful, reminiscent of an animal gliding through the ground with great agility. The thin seat looks like it was made to flutter in the wind, adding a beautiful airy texture to the overall design. This high stool would be the perfect addition to a space, making it look beautiful, as if you were sitting on the back of a supple animal running at full speed. Congratulations to Hitoshi Motomura for winning the A' Design Award for their amazing work!

Whether placed alone or in a group, the design has the beauty of sculpture and architecture, making it a truly unique piece of furniture. Its dynamic, organic form and thin seat are inspired by the natural world, giving it an extra layer of beauty. Its high seat also gives it a light tension and attention-grabbing appeal. I must say that Hitoshi Motomura's work, Vento, is truly a work of art. The supple lines and heavy luster of the metal create a beautiful contrast that is both visually pleasing and creative. The sculptural beauty of the high stool has an organic form and is inspired by the movement of animals and the fluttering of hair in the wind. It is clear that much research went into creating such a unique piece of furniture. Vento is a stunning work of design and a worthy recipient of the A' Design Award.
