| DESIGN NAME: Guardians PRIMARY FUNCTION: Furniture Set INSPIRATION: For millenniums, animals have been an inseparable part of human life. Zoomorphic motives dominated prehistoric art and have survived up until our era. Traditional crafts, such as carpet weaving and pottery, draw inspiration from the zoomorphic iconography. Positive human-animal relationships can provoke positive emotions, in fact, animals have been a source of inspiration for many modern artists and designers. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The Guardians is a limited-edition line of furniture. It makes a positive connection between humans and animals by its design. The chairs are designed to be ergonomic and comfortable in mind. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This project is designed to encourage the sense of thinking, reasoning, and not simply disregarding the events and the world around. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: These objects belong to a set of furniture produced by a state-of-the-art 3d printing system combined with fiberglass technology and handcrafting for the final refinements. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The size of the chair is 70*75*90 cm. The size of the table is 75*170*80 cm. TAGS: Animals, Modern, Geometrical, Guardians, Furniture, zoomorphic, iconography RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In designing Guardians, the designer studied the anatomy of the animals for creating objects that evoke energy and agility. CHALLENGE: The main challenge was to meet the market demand for modern furniture in various forms of protective symbols, transforming the animal shapes to the pieces with the same emotion, joining performance and aesthetics beside emotional connection between the Guardians and the users.
