DESIGN NAME: Yukidoke Mitsu
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Fruits Package
INSPIRATION: I imagined a scene of sweet, sweet strawberries being harvested in the pure white snow. The falling snow was expressed with a textured pasteboard box.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Mizukami Village Brand Strawberry "Yukidokemitsu (Melting snow honey)" A brand-name strawberry with high sugar content. Produced in "Mizukami Village in Kumamoto Prefecture", a beautiful village at a high elevation with the headstream of Kumagawa River. Naming, logo and package design. The concept of the design is the sweet strawberries that are picked when the snow melts.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This is a box with a lid on top.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Created in 2019 at the request of Mizukami Village, Kumamoto Prefecture.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: This Package is not for eating at home, but for selling as a gift to someone else. It is sold in a solid box to create a sense of luxury.
CHALLENGE: We had a hard time figuring out how to express the concept of "sweet strawberries," but we were able to solve the problem by naming and designing the logo.

NAME: Mizukami village
PROFILE: Kumamoto Prefecture is located on an island called Kyushu at the southern tip of Japan. Mizukami Village, located in Kuma County in that prefecture, is a village surrounded by mountains with a population of about 2,000 at the foot of Ichifusa Mountain, which is the source of the Kuma River.

I am simply amazed by this creative and unique design for the "Yukidoke Mitsu" packaging. The concept of expressing sweetness of the strawberries with a textured pasteboard box is truly inspiring and it is clear that a lot of thought and research has gone into this project. The idea of naming the product and creating a logo to illustrate the concept of melting snow is genius and it truly captures the essence of the product. This design is a great example of how creativity and research can come together to create something truly beautiful and impactful. Congratulations on the well-deserved award!

I am in awe of the creative work of "Yukidoke Mitsu". The package design is truly a masterpiece, overflowing with charm and character. I am particularly impressed by the use of the textured pasteboard box to capture the feeling of a scene of sweet, sweet strawberries being harvested in the pure white snow. I absolutely adore Shingo Furusho's award-winning work, "Yukidoke Mitsu". It's an incredibly creative and thoughtful design that truly captures the beauty of the Mizukami Village and its snow-covered strawberries.
