PRIMARY FUNCTION: Pillow
INSPIRATION: The design is inspired by differences between person to person, including height, weight, the distribution of muscles and bones as well as the demands of pillow height and comfort. Therefore, providing the most comfortable sleeping experience requires a pillow with supporting modules of different hardness.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Wishes Pillow (Rolling) adopts distributed design with six independent supporting areas to ensure the comfort of the neck and the head. Six area of different types and quantity of fillings provide distinct user experience. Besides, users of different build and height can adjust its height as needed. The elastic latex particles can fit sleeping positions of users.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: According to various demands of users, the pillow is divided into six areas which are filled with different quantity of latex particles, goose down or antibacterial fibers. Thanks to the modular structure, there are free combinations for users to choose or easily change without extra operation such as installation and disassembly. Sleeping on such a pillow brings the optimal sleeping experience.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: It is mainly made of elastic latex particles, 95 percent white goose down and polyester fibers. Compared with common integrated pillows, it is able to support the head and the neck effectively, thus easing the burden of the shoulder and ensuring the comfortable sleeping positions. The structure is formed by connected modules which facilitates ventilation for good sleep.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The fact that users generally sleep on the back or on one side call for the need of partition design of pillows to guarantee good sleeping environment. The brain fossa area supports the supine sleeping position. Based on the structure of the anterior arch of the cervical spine, the pillow requires a cervical support area to relax the neck muscles, and protect and recover the physiological curvature of the cervical spine.
CHALLENGE: How to balance moderate softness and sufficient support challenges the design of the pillow. In order to achieve the goal, it adopts different combinations of multiple fillings. Also, it takes the convenience of replacement into consideration. Modules are combined ergonomically so that users can replace them without disassembly.
