DESIGN NAME: Dot
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Pendant Lamp
INSPIRATION: Our inspiration was the earth around its course in the solar system. Each rotation, each position of the planet results in sunlight over us, and with that, we have day and night, routine, and the circadian cycle. We wanted to represent that people physically go through these transformations that’s why each point of light is seen differently in the luminaire, in the way it is placed in the environment.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The luminaire is a set of pendants that defy gravity and symmetry in harmony. Each pendant has a canoe-shaped base, supported by an angled stem. Inside the base is a sphere-shaped point of light.
The luminaire's earthy tone recalls the earth, our greatest design inspiration.
The final composition was harmoniously developed from the visual existing in the environment, presenting the points of light in different ways.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The pieces were made in two different versions and heights, which can be composed in different ways depending on the ambient, creating a dynamism wherever it’s inserted.
Despite having broad non-directed lighting, it provides visual comfort due to the material used in its dome, creating a cozy atmosphere.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project was developed in a short period to be presented in a decoration show. Between research, creation, and production, the time was 1 month.
FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Lighting Products and Fixtures Design

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Steel and glass.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The Luminaire has a base canoe 30cm wide and a milky globe with 12cm of diameter, it’s illuminated by a g9 lamp up to 3W. These elements are supported by spun steel rods, with Terracotta color electrostatic painting. The size of the steel rods and placement is custom for each specific space composition.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: After being invited to create an environment in an Interior Architecture exhibition with great recognition in Brazil, we conceptualized the space focused on creating a cozy atmosphere, with Brazilian design pieces and a mixture of natural materials and technology.
When we looked for a luminaire on the market, we realized that nothing fitted the feeling that we wanted for the project. So, we decided to carry out research on the sensations that shapes and colors convey to create something unique and innovative for the environment.
CHALLENGE: The deadline was the biggest challenge of the project. With just 1 month to develop a complete environment in an Interior Architecture exhibition with great recognition in Brazil, our focal point of the project became unusual in the lighting market.
