DESIGN NAME: Guangliang 59Plus Flying CoBranded
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Liquor Packaging
INSPIRATION: The design aims to create a wholly different image of Fei tian, literally meaning fly to the sky. Fei tian has double meanings in Chinese, one being flying Apsaras in the frescoes of the Dunhuang Caves and another aerospace science and technology. In this connection, the illustration contains above two images, who are finger touching, forming a strong story-telling effect.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This limited edition liquor packaging is co-designed by Guangliang Wine Industry and Dunhuang Museum. The packaging encompassing the elements of Dunhuang frescoes and China Aerospace represents the exploration of the universe. Therefore, it embodies the traditional charm of Chinese aesthetics and creates an exquisite and elegant overall visual appearance.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This product was started in July 2021, Chengdu, China, and was finished in October 2021.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: It adopts sprayed frosted paint to emulate the texture of jade and uses high precision all-over decoration firing process to 360-degree display the illustration.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Dunhuang flying Apsaras is an invaluable treasure of the Chinese culture, and a miracle created by Chinese artists for the world art history. Throughout the history, we remain committed to exploring the universe and the stars. Guangliang selects the pure white and diaphanous bottle, on which Dunhuang flying Apsaras and the high-tech astronaut are integrally printed on the appearance design, standing for the inheritance of the flying to the sky spirit.
CHALLENGE: The challenge lies in how to combine the elements of Dunhuang flying Apsaras and brand features. Overturning the ubiquitous packaging design of traditional culture by other counterparts, the design team thinks out of the box and renders the product a whole new visual effect by the contrast of the two dimensions of time and space to showcase the balance of science and tradition.

NAME: Sichuan Guangliang Wine Industry Co., Ltd.
PROFILE: Guangliang Wine, short for “Guangping Liangxin Wine”, meaning “a premium wine that deserves drinking till it is empty-bottled”. Located in Chengdu, China, as well as the Golden Brewing Area 30 degrees north, it officially went public in March 2019. As the first digitized liquor in China, it pioneered the product expression of “demonstrate by data” that clearly shows three years’ proportions of the basic liquor of grain. Guangliang Wine is a civil liquor that meets customers’ needs.
