| DESIGN NAME: Zhuozheng Jiangnan Courtyard PRIMARY FUNCTION: Villa INSPIRATION: Cultural identity and cultural confidence should be intricately interlinked in design. The convergence of modernity and orient shall not be constrained to the transplant of traditional elements or superficial showcase of symbols, but rather the breakthrough from simple forms, instead, it should return to the core of spiritual culture, the integration and reflection of the lifestyle and artistic pursuit of people nowadays. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Zhuozheng Jiangnan Courtyard, separated from World Cultural Heritage Zhuozheng Garden with only one wall, is the cultural heritage of Suzhou gardens and the city as well. The fifty six Chinese styled villas housed in 11 buildings have reproduced the poetic world of gardens and paid tribute to the long-standing Chinese preference for courtyards. The project also explained the artistic sentiments and respect to traditional culture of China Railway Construction Real Estate Group Co. Ltd. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Designers probe into the forms of Suzhou gardens and inherit the spirit. The philosophy of space has been explored from comprehensive perspectives of arts. Imagination and reality are reproduced on the basis of internationalized aesthetic and artistic concepts, which have gotten rid of the constraints of time, space, images and definitions. A space for aesthetic imagination with features of a particular region, culture and era has been built accordingly, making empty spaces intriguing. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The designer delves into cultural confidence in modern era through contemporary artistic expressions and historical, modern, global design elements. Exploring relevance and interaction between design and regional culture, Bluemoon Design tries to trace the path of virtual and real scenario creation in classic Chinese garden aesthetics, gaining more insights into the commonalities in spirit of historical scholars and writers, as well as people of modern taste. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Area, 885 Square Meters Suzhou natives love secluded places protected by winding path. Large residences with extraordinary depth tend to be partitioned with crisscrossing corridors, paths, artificial mountains and plants. Zhuozheng Jiangnan Courtyard is a poetic settlement that scholars are dreaming about and a small world full of vigor and vitality. TAGS: Villa, Orient, Courtyard, Mordern, Aesthetics RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The screen is originally known as Autumn Garden Scene Under Moon, showing the scenery of the garden in the moonlight in autumn with the image of chrysanthemum, one of the four types of flowers that stand for lofty morality, and osmanthus, the municipal flower of Suzhou. A paradise like space has been created thanks to the oriental charm of implicitness and elegance of the Zhuozheng Garden nearby, the NO. One Garden in China, where there are clear water and green mountains. The screen is exquisitely decorated with traditional lacquer art, rendering a charm of luxury and elegance. CHALLENGE: Traditional culture and aesthetic value are the internalization of spiritual core. Contemporary design can gradually create a strange sense of familiarity by building on the leading design concepts worldwide, retaining the cultural core of our nation, experiencing the interesting traditional culture and thinking about the trend of modern arts.
