| DESIGN NAME: Matra PRIMARY FUNCTION: Electric Mountain Bike INSPIRATION: WThe Matra brand, which appeared in 1947 in the post-war French industrial renewal movement, has always been associated with innovation and high technology. These values, present in all areas of the business, have taken on their full meaning in the automotive industry and still form the backbone of the business today. After more than 40 years of success in the automotive industry, the Matra brand was reborn in 2004 with Proximity Electric Transport Solutions ™, 100% electric modes of transport UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Efficient whatever the direction of the slope, the eBikes of the I-FORCE range transform the steepest terrain into a formidable playground. Bosch eBike Systems technology provides electric assistance to optimize your outings. High performance accessorization pairs perfectly with frames, rigid or suspended, for great sensations and maximum pleasure. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This electric bicycle is very easy to operate. When you push the pedal it automatically transform into an electric assisted bicycle. On the display you can follow your speed and the autonomy of the battery. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Full carbon frame - fully integrated carbon motor bracket. Fully integrated handlebar and cockpit in Carbon. One of the worlds lightest fully integrated electric bikes with a high torque mid-motor. Autoclave technology to make the monocoque frame SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 17,8 Kg / Length 145 cm x Hight 95 cm x width 50 cm / Package luxury cartonage / Technical property: Probably the lightest electric bicycle in the market. Motor integrated fully in the frame. Battery fully integrated in the frame. Control cockpit fully integrated into the frame. USB connector for external devices. Motor the bike by a personal app for iPhone. The end consumers was missing a holistic designed electric bike in the market. Normally electric bikes are not that beautiful. You will see external battery boxes. External motors and external cables. But in our Matra case all is extremely well integrated. CHALLENGE: The biggest challenge was to get the Kinematics right for MTB purposes. Because of idea to integrate all items we had to make many of the parts from scratch. For instanse the battery and the display is totally new developments for this project only. We work for many automotive companies all over the world. Our design philosophy is to integrate parts in our design as much as possible in order to create a holistic design. Another discipline that we master is to ingrate design DNA from existing brands into new developments and concepts. Diavelo is one of the most or probably the most award winning studio in the world designing electric bicycles. |
