| DESIGN NAME: Purity PRIMARY FUNCTION: Office Space INSPIRATION: This project is located in the windy, rainy and humid Danshui city, Taiwan. The designers used a subtle design approach with simple lines, a pure white color scheme, and the concept of a roundabout to make the 62 square meter space accommodate both an office and a meeting room, as well as a material showroom. In order to preserve the bright lighting characteristics, white wooden louvers were chosen to adjust and shade the light, so that the overall interior space can maintain the brightness. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The space was based on white color, adopt two-color flooring to define the area and enlarge the visual sense of the pattern. The natural mineral coatings and system cabinets are used to regulate the humidity and moisture resistance. The entrance was made of large floor-to-ceiling windows to show the transparent space, and the interior layout used a roundabout design, adding nature light for a sense of comfort to the space. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The interior space is only 62 square meters, the designers separated the space into office space and meeting space, and the two areas were separated by a double-sided system cabinets to define the area and also link the interaction between the two spaces. After opening the entrance glass door, the door formed a virtual partition wall between the meeting room and the office space, defining the space difference. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The designers used a type of coating with natural lime powder and natural minerals for the flooring throughout the space to regulate the humidity in the space. To echo the blue flooring, Prussian blue was chosen for the meeting chairs and also table legs with titanium-plated hairline metal legs. The conference table was equipped with metallic ring chandeliers, which provide balanced light to disperse the conference space and increase the comfort of users. Due to the limited space, the material display of the studio was presented in the track type plate rack, and a design of outlet panel in the drawer for clients to choose. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The office is located on the ground floor with a physical floor area of 62 square meters, divided into a conference room, office and material showroom, and a restroom. TAGS: transparent space, roundabout design, purification, natural mineral coatings, pure white, RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The design of the space is oriented towards usage and comfort. During the discussion stage of this project, considering that the studio is located next to the sidewalk, in order to make the distance from the sidewalk and provide a semi-outdoor entrance space, the designers retracted the entrance by 40cm, which is the size that people can fit under the eaves. CHALLENGE: As the office is located in a rainy city, in order to provide a buffer for guests to enter and exit during the rainy time, the designers retracted the entrance by 40cm so that rainwater would not be splashing in. The blue flooring extended the entrance area to the interior, delineating the boundaries. In response to the humid climate, the interior furniture material is moisture-resistant and easy to clean system cabinets, with moisture-absorbing flooring to regulate the overall humidity of the space.
