| DESIGN NAME: Aranya PRIMARY FUNCTION: Homes Reception Center INSPIRATION: At the beginning, we proposed an assumption as what kind of space would naturally calm people down? We listed and summarized space like bookstore, Buddhist temple, church, classroom, and library, feeling that the solemn and respectful dignity of church greatly matches with the atmosphere and usage of the space. Church is the place to heal the soul of people. This echoes the main concept of aranya that bringing people with spiritual release. We took this as our inspiration and thus, there is a kind of visual hierarchy guidance in current space. It appears as decoration and structure are both queuing, everything is not in rush. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The area's architectural plans are made of white steel frames and geometric boxes, as well as alongside a beautiful wetland park, so a large area of the glass curtain walls is also used. The pure and transparent volume of this reception center is designed to highlight the superior natural wetland environment. This project takes church as the reference, hoping that through the interior design to create a peaceful atmosphere so as to influence people's behavior and reduce the chaos in sound. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Muti-functional reception bars in box form has been put at various entrances, to integrate functions as well as separate people flow. The display wall made of acrylic was in a clear structure at the entrance of the restaurant, and the content to display could be various by different community activities. In this case, customers can grasp recent community activity arrangements by taking a quick look. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This project is located in aranya, Qinhuangdao, which has been formally put into use on the eve of 2021 aranya theater festival. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Facing the noisy situation in peak period of people flow, the ceiling of whole space is made of acoustic wooden fiber board. It was a surprise that the rusticity of wooden fiber boards embodied the whole space with a loose sense, softening the space to some extents. Moreover, the brutality of wooden fiber board and the delicateness of hardware and lamps form a contrast between each other. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Wood silk sound-absorbing cotton board in 1220mm x 2440mm x 15mm TAGS: Reception Center, Transit Distribution, Calm, Respectful, Noise-cancelling RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Transformative analysis and research the logic of behaviors and demands of people in the reception space. The effect of different color temperature lights on people's moods; The use of sound-absorbing materials in space. CHALLENGE: 1. This project needs to meet multiple functional needs while also taking on the role of visitor services, and hubs. 2. How to effectively solve the indoor environment chaos, noise, and other problems by a large number of people.
