DESIGN DETAILS
DESIGN NAME:
Pandora Box

PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Tavern

INSPIRATION:
The space is a luxurious liquor sales center, conceives such as retail, wine tasting, displaying, collecting, and others fully presented in the partition of the single space three floors. Meanwhile, the client also hoped to show his taste and style throughout the wine-tasting area, attract other tasteful people into the wine tasting culture, bring unique personalities into the artistic space and select shop, and provide a glorious experience.

UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
The designer carefully evaluated the space conditions; the original stares are rotated to create a more smooth and harmonic traffic flow. Their functions partition the areas; the three floors are the display area, the counter area, the collection area, the gathering area, the light meal area, the VIP floor, and more. Customers can enjoy the outstanding wine collection in different areas according to their attendance and interests. The structure is injected with quiet and elegance by a calm and restrained color selection.

OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION:
To achieve a more affluent and harmonic space configuration, the designer rotated the original stairs especially to reflect a smoother movement planning. The front of the first floor has main functions including retail, tasting, and displaying; counter bars, curved glass cabinets, and hallowed storages are set around the area. The ceiling uses brick-imitating wallpapers as a collage; the combination of warm wooden tones and metallic frame embellishment shows qualities of low-key luxury. The end of the floor is the inner side of the space with fully equipped wine storage facilities.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION:
The project finished in April 2021 in Taiwan.

FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY:

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY:
Recycled bricks, lighting, marble, wooden cabinets, modeling wallpapers, louver door pieces, iron pieces, Moru glass doors, solid wood.

SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES:
The area is a 270-ping roughcast house with three floors in total. The designer kept the original spatial pattern and planned around it; the stairs are rotated to create a more smooth traffic flow, reflecting the designs and functions within the perfect spatial.

TAGS:
Tavern space, wine collection, artistic atmosphere, curved sense, single household, business guests.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT:
The story behind the design is that the owner hoped to create a business for his daughter. The original base was bought many years ago. Due to the international crises and environmental trends, the owner wished to create a wine tasting space in his own country for people in business to purchase. Meanwhile, the spatial is expected to meet the needs of retail and collecting; with the planning through the areas and floors, the retail area, the collection area, the gathering area, the light meal area and the client exclusive guest room, and more areas are created.

CHALLENGE:
The space is a three-story building. Considering the need for wine collections and tasting in consideration, besides the thought-through installation of thermal insulation equipment, more attention was paid to the temperature adjustment. Therefore, the designer intentionally set up the liquor collection deep within the space to avoid being exposed under the sun in the west and retain the high quality.
