DESIGN NAME: Splendid Forest
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential
INSPIRATION: The image of nature is the main concept of the plan. Using natural lights, wood materials, the texture of stones and metals as a medium, the designer has combined them with lamps in cloud and bird shapes, the ceiling in curved patterns, and silhouettes in staggered order. The client expects to enjoy a harmonious ambiance with his family of five members. Thus, the design of the house has broken through the stereotypes of the traditional idea of configuration, which seems the public area as one body. Nevertheless, the introduction of sunlight has made the space visually broaden.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The designer has dismantled the partitions. As a result, the living room, dining room, kitchen, and playground have become a wide space. The designer has established the house with a leisure ambiance. Thus, the inclined lattice in staggered order at the entrance has made the visual perception more transparent, also implies the image of the shadow of forest trees. Moreover, the TV wall is created with natural materials such as wood, slabs with stone texture, and metals which has brought in the meaning of life and growth in nature. Extended the atmosphere to the ceiling.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: In order to manifest a consistent atmosphere, the designer has used wood, stone grains, and metals to establish the overall ambiance of the public domain. Moreover, using lamps in the cloud and bird style as well as silhouettes of trees to outline the design of the mansion. Simultaneously, so as to reach the client expectation of gathering family members in the public domain, the designer has reorganized the configuration. Therefore, the partitions between each domain are dismantled so that the parents can look after their children without any obstacles.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project finished in July 2020 in Kaohsiung.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Instead of using an abrasion-resistant floor, the designer has chosen a wood floor that is consistent with the utility of stone grain, wood materials, and metals so as to reach the purpose of sustainable development. The reason why the designer has picked wood floor over the abrasion-resistant floor is that the latter might be deformed after five to ten years so as the former, but the former can be restored to the original state by adequately grinding.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: So as to create a widely natural image, the designer has re-planned the building plan. For example, the designer has dismantled the inherent partitions and used wooden floors to imply consistency. Simultaneously, utilizing easily movable L-sofa, lightweight ornaments to fulfill the leisure function. In addition, the TV wall is made of wood, stone slabs, and metals which have extended to the ceiling, creating an image of the firmament.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The designer has reorganized the configuration by dismantling the partitions so that the overall space has become wider. Decorated the door of the bookshelf with an image of a treehouse so that he has chosen a bean bag as the ornament of the area.
CHALLENGE: The designer has equipped the house with energy recovery ventilation which needs to extremely organize the problem with the pipeline of Air-conditioning ventilation. Therefore, the style of the ceiling has been restrained. Moreover, in order to achieve the effect of broadness in the public domain, the designer has reconstructed the partitions. Finally, with several times of discussions and arrangements, they have fulfilled the clients expectations.
