| DESIGN NAME: Stoyka PRIMARY FUNCTION: Sport Equipment INSPIRATION: Physical activity is one of the most important aspects affecting the formation of ecological thinking and a healthy lifestyle. Since physical fitness has become integral to our daily routines, the purpose behind the Stoyka aims to strike a balance in using living spaces as fitness studios. We have rethought the design of a home gym and transformed it so that its appearance does not cause rejection, but is perceived as something natural and organic. It was important not to complicate the object, to make it simple, compact, safe to use, and convenient to maintain cleanliness. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Stoyka is a power rack for the modern home designed to look like high-end furniture, merging the home gym with storage capabilities. The storage system is integrated into the power rack, which slides out from behind the power rack’s rear wall. The system provides enough storage space to store the power rack’s barbells, round weighted plates, as well as rack accessories like support beams and spotter’s arms. It is equipped with reinforced racks, a crossbar, and removable wall bars. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Stoyka is designed to perform a variety of physical exercises, including strength High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), balance and flexibility exercises. Ease of use and friendly design make the Stoyka relevant for people of all ages and genders. With steel accents and an inconspicuous design, Stoyka blends into any living room when not in use, also the closed storage system facilitates the cleaning process. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in February 2019 in Tolyatti and finished in December 2020 in Tolyatti. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: After the creation of the first sketches and three-dimensional models, initial feedback from professional fitness trainers and engineers was collected, which made it possible to make a number of adjustments to the proportions and structure of objects. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Height 2320 mm Width 1500 mm Depth 1100 mm TAGS: Power Rack, Wall, Fitness, HIIT, Balance, Flexibility, Crossbar, Wall bars, Sport RESEARCH ABSTRACT: During the research, the team conducted interviews with trainers and users of fitness centers, studied the experience of the world's best manufacturers in this area, and worked out several use cases, which helped to form Stoyka’s core. CHALLENGE: It needs to bring the power rack into any modern living space without compromising the interior design of any given room.
