UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: A minimal sofa that is easy to assemble without the use of screws or nails. Original interlocking assembly system that allows you to assemble and disassemble a 3 seater sofa whenever you need it.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The sofa, static and bulky furniture, becomes transportable. It can be disassembled and reassembled as often as desired without the need for tools.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The initial project was born in 2013 for a design competition. Exhibited at the Fuori Salone del Mobile in Milan in the same year and at the Italian Cultural Institute in Vienna on the occasion of the Design Week. It was reborn in 2021 in collaboration with a local carpentry.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The aim of the project is to create a sofa that can be disassembled and reassembled without the aid of tools and hardware, eliminating the plastic in the packaging and that is recyclable. The Cinque sofa is available in both indoor and outdoor versions where it finds its maximum functionality: when in the winter the sofa has no reason to be used outdoors, it can easily be disassembled and put away, taking up minimal space.
CHALLENGE: In addition to the conception of the interlocking system, the concept of Cinque is to demonstrate that it is possible to reduce the use of plastic and hardware for the creation of large-volume furniture.
