DESIGN NAME: Envio
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Application
INSPIRATION: Envio wanted to develop an end-to-end solution for ANY existing commercial building regardless of the facility’s size, age, or infrastructure. Making a solution affordable, accessible, and applicable is the key to positively impacting the world through connected automation solutions.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The goal of Envio platform was to create data heavy yet simple to use interactive web app for managing physical property assets. The app is gathering data across portfolio of smart buildings trough thousands of sensors. Millions of raw data points are processed and transformed in simple visuals, charts, tables, graphics for users to be able to get insights and make decisions easily .
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Users log into the system trough login portal ( https://envio.systems/#!/auth/login/ ). Depending on their access level and role users are able to see, analyze and manage assigned portfolio buildings or zones.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in 2016 and it was published in 2017. It is still ongoing, as having more and more customers on platform and having bigger portfolios to maintain new challenges are arising and the app keeps evolving.
FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Interface, Interaction and User Experience Design
|
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The project is available for desktop and mobile. Design Tools: Figma, Illustrator, Invision, Zeplin
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The app is primary designed for desktop and has simplified quick view mobile design. Fitting vast amount of data required creativity in displaying it on various screen sizes.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We have built a customer-engaged product. To build the most useful platform, client feedback and insider industry knowledge has been fundamental.
Preliminary analysis and service design included: Research and Service Design, Stakeholder insights, User interviews, Market research, creation of Personas, Ideation workshops, User flow, Design based iteration process, Design System has been done.
CHALLENGE: Imagine you have hundred buildings and each has thousands of different sensors ( heat, movement, occupancy, gas, water, electricity.. ). Each sensor gathers up to 50 data points. That can add up to 5.000.000 of data needed to be presented to user and yet remain simple and easy to use.
