PRIMARY FUNCTION: Liquor Packaging
INSPIRATION: The design inspiration and thinking comes from the fame history of Fenjiu in 1500. The metallic totem of the royal blue bottle 1500 carries the core culture of Fenjiu. The 1500 totem is composed of the Panama Universal Exposition totem, the statue of Emperor Wucheng of the Northern Qi Dynasty, the pattern of apricot blossom, the verse "I ask where the restaurant is, the shepherd boy refers to the apricot village" pattern, and the "Shenquan" totem. The color of the bottle is blue.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This design refines and organizes the history, culture and related elements of Fenjiu, implicitly integrates it with the product, and re-upgrades the brand vision, paying attention to the details and texture of the product, escorting the reputation, and creating a light and luxurious Fenjiu image.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This bottle design breaks away from the traditional archaic and monochromatic design of Fenjiu, it boldly incorporates the jewel blue colour of turquoise to present an elegant look to the consumer. The bottle is also embellished with a glazed finish echoing the gemstone design concept. The text and artwork are stamped with gold, and the historical backstory of Fenjiu is patterned into the text design.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project starts in April 2019 in Jingdezhen and ends in August 2021 in Jingdezhen.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The design of this bottle is based on ceramic material and the packaging is printed with foil stamping technology.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The height and diameter of this white wine bottle is: 315mm x 70mm.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In the design, the historical background of Shanxi Fenjiu is explored, and the story is reflected in the design from the allusion to the poem "I don't know where the wine shop is, the shepherd boy points to the apricot blossom". It is the first heritage of history to pass on the classical flavour to the current consumers, without losing the current trend of style and without departing from the history of Fenjiu.
CHALLENGE: The most challenging aspect of this design was to maintain the traditional appearance of Fen Wine but also to be bold and innovative, looking for elements from historical references.
