DESIGN NAME: The Beauty Underneath
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Brand Design
INSPIRATION: Originally inspired by the migrating flamingos at Saline di Tarquina, the summer retreat of the founding family, today the colors and layers of the landscape form the basis of this new brand identity, that always reveals something beautiful underneath.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Italian medical skincare solutions from Bioformula are injected under the skin. Active ingredients in the product bring out the beauty from underneath.
The challenge: To connect with a much younger generation, especially in Asia, while staying true to the brand's origin and functionality.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Each individual item is constructed in such a way that it will always reveal something beautiful under the surface layer, resulting in a playful interaction with the product.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Rolled out since January 2021.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: As this is a complete brand design, multiple production techniques depending on each individual item were used.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The rejuvenated brand design targets a new, much younger generation (Gen Z), especially in Asia. Hence its approach is more playful and approachable.
CHALLENGE: While connecting with this new generation, not losing the brand's origin and still communicating its functionality was key.
