| DESIGN NAME: Stoked KL PRIMARY FUNCTION: Workplace INSPIRATION: The design is inspired by most distinguish tropical and colonial feature in Malaysia as the mood setting. By natural lights flow in from the treelined keeping the space bright and cozy. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Stoked Associates embraced the opportunity to walk the talk of workplace transformation. The idea of office never really sat well with the designers. They designed a fully open workspace area with studio as their aspiration. Making a studio that sparks creativity and encourage interactive among people. A strong visual fuels different experiences throughout this 1300sqft space and it could turn into an event space in the evening. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Introducing coffee and tea at the cafe like pantry when first stepping into the touchdown area. Greeted by fancy yet sleek black and white tiles, complementing the Classic Blue Wall at our Meeting Room. Walking into the center of the studio, touched by the cozy Lounge Area, where the window like art mural is looking out to the Tropical Forest. There show some exotic animal peaking while people experiencing the space. The designer open-up the back of house, combining with designer’s favorite Material Library. Where designer’s get inspired and toy with various materials, in order to cook up something new and bring it to the table. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in August 2019, and was completed in September 2020 at EkoCheras Office Suites, KL, Malaysia FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Interior Space and Exhibition Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: By introducing the movable bar table create flexibility within the cafe for different activities. Acoustic design panels involve cutting down the noises to an allowable level and controlling the reverberation within the room or space. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Width 15400mm x Depth 8000mm x Height 3900mm TAGS: Interior Design, Experience, Workplace, Biophilic RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The interior speaks about who Stoked is. The designer created a space that caters for different activities with movable furniture that could easily move things around. There are various choice of furniture setting provided for employees to choose where they want to sit according to their work activity. That encourage people to walk around and collaborate better. There are dedicated lockers for each individuals to keep their belongings to achieve a clean and neat environment. CHALLENGE: In an open workplace environment with high ceiling, sounds travelling across the space become a serious issue and it might affect the productivity at work. The designer treated the wall with acoustic panels to cut down the noise and it turns into feature wall.
