DESIGN NAME: Carbon Dashboard
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Mobile Application
INSPIRATION: I want to construct a translational relationship between consumption behaviour and carbon emissions, and to visualize this as a reminder to reduce high carbon emission behaviour.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Carbon dashboard is an application for visualizing personal carbon emissions data. This app uses algorithms to calculate daily carbon emissions based on individual consumption and action routes. By visualizing carbon emissions to change users' high carbon consumption behavior, the aim is to reduce carbon emissions of the general public and protect the environment.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: By recording personal consumption behavior, Carbon dashboard transforms consumption data into a visualization of carbon emissions, categorizing the sources of carbon emissions and enabling users to gain a more precise understanding of the high carbon emissions in their lives and to control them. By socially ranking the carbon emissions around them, users are stimulated to reduce their carbon emissions as much as possible.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in September 2020 and finished in May 2021 in China.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: This app uses algorithms to calculate daily carbon emissions based on individual consumption and action routes.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The app is designed for iOS platforms, fitting various screen sizes. Referring to the submitted entry the design is made for iPhone 11 Pro Max. Screen Size 1242px x 2688px and Resolution 458 PPI.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Our research in this project focused on changing people's behavior through visualization, and we did a lot of research and user interviews to develop a prototype interface for Carbon dashboard.
CHALLENGE: Our challenge lies mainly in the algorithm for the transformation between carbon emissions and consumption behavior data. We hope that this transformation of data will give users a clearer understanding of the environmental impact of their individual behavior.
