DESIGN NAME: ArtVinegar
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Vinegar Bottle
INSPIRATION: Since leftover fruits taste the same as appealing good fruits, it is ideal to use leftover fruits to make vinegar. Even ugly fruits have the potential to transform into healthy vinegar. This product advocates reducing food waste, creating additional food value, and boosting economic output.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: ArtVinegar is a DIY kit with a glass bottle for making imperfect fruits into healthy vinegar. Consumers can choose unappealing or perishing fruits at the supermarket produce section, produce markets or small farmers markets and the vinegar flavor they like. A manual is included. The glass bottle can be brought to the sales outlets for recycling. Food waste is minimized, and sustainability is promoted.

PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: In August 2020 began to think, in September there are preliminary design prototypes, 10 market research, in December with glass manufacturers, is expected to be in Taiwan in March 2021.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The glass bottle of the ArtVinegar is made of commonly recycled brown glass by the bubbling process, and the Square sheng conveys the reminiscence of traditional vinegar making. The bubble pattern on the bottle echoes the bubbles of vinegar fermentation.
ArtVinegar uses "imperfections and gaps" as its imagery and brings sustainability to the vinegar-making experience by focusing on glass reproduction and the circular economy of food.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: ArtVinegar inherits the artisanship of vinegar officials in ancient times, offering fun experiences of pure brewing, soaking, tossing, and bubbling fermentation of fruit vinegar. One layer of sweet fruit and one layer of crushed sugar result in the change of flavor attributed to the fluctuation of temperature and the passage of time. ArtVinegar creates the fun of vinegar making.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Problem.01 Every year, one-third of the world's food (about 1.3 billion tons) is wasted, resulting in an economic loss of US$727.3 billion, and 25% of the waste comes from fruits and vegetables.
Problem.02 Nearly 1 / 4 of the glass bottles will be eliminated after Glass industry are made.The glass will have some manual traces or small bubbles, high-temperature processing environment to produce "no manual traces without any small bubbles" probability is almost zero, but basically does not affect the aesthetics, not to affect the internal quality and use.
CHALLENGE: How to communicate with manufacturers to sample products, explain how the cultural meaning and styling meaning of people, as well as good relations with customers, in order to have long-term cooperation opportunities.
