| DESIGN NAME: Ace Iflip PRIMARY FUNCTION: Multi Function Dining Chair INSPIRATION: The function of general child dining chair is simple and it cannot meet all the needs after a long time use. Besides, infants and young children grow up fast so they need different products to replace and use. In order to reduce the additional product purchasing cost and save more living space, we design this multifunctional children dining chair that provided more using ways and also save the expense. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This multifunctional dining chair has a variety of functions and is designed based on the growth needs of children. It can be used in accordance with the height of infants and young children and also on different occasions. Infant dining chair for 7 months to 3 years old; Children dining chair for 3 to 6 years old; Leisure chair for above 6 years old or adults who can sit down within 34 cm width of the chair, It can be used as a highchair for infant and children when placed on an adult dining chair. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Unfold the chair by pressing the buttons on both sides, press and click the concave holes on the left and right sides of the seat into the lower iron shaft to fix it. The child dining chair can be used on the adult seat and fasten the seat belt under the seat and the backrest. 3 position seat height adjustable by aligning the four parallel holes of the frame. When the dinner plate is not used, press or raise the latch from the notches on both sides and become a children dining chair or leisure chair. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in February 2020 in Taiwan and finished in September 2020 in Taiwan, and was exhibited in January 2021. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The plastic injection component is remade by the steel mold of the plastic injection molding machine and combined with the aluminium alloy sections. Aluminium alloy is an environment friendly and recyclable metal that provides a stable support for the chair. It can reduce the product weight effectively and easy to carry. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Open: Width: 410mm Height: 440mm Depth : 470mm Fold: Width: 410mm Height: 423mm Depth : 150mm TAGS: Multifunctional, growing type, infant, child, dining chair, parent-child RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We are considering the needs of the target market and investigate the shortcomings of the child dining chair in the current market. Using the Scamper method to generate the direction and ideas for the new design. Then, making a series of tests for different activities and occasions to improve the product functions and adjust the structural strength and durability. Finally, adjust the product appearance to become a fashionable, comfortable and practical product. CHALLENGE: The structural combination of the product is the most challenging.In order to achieve a long using period, we need to consider that the width of the seat must be in 34 cm.3-postion adjustable for the seat height and the height difference must be in 8 cm.Finally, the seat is opened to show the parallel A-shaped tripod,which deletes the space between the tripod and the seatIncrease and extend the seat width for easy to open and fold.
