| DESIGN NAME: Memorial PRIMARY FUNCTION: Jewelry INSPIRATION: 2020 was undoubtedly an exceptional year. Everyone witnessed how the medical team faced a lot of problems due to Covid-19. In this year, the devotion of health protectors was like a medal for the performance of medical society and will remain in the memory of history. Perseverance, and the endeavor of these people despite their tiredness and scarred faces, were all the inspirations for the design and making of memorial to cherish their memory. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The spiritual concept and the minimal design are the special features of Memorial . The materials used in human motive is the pure silver clay and has been totally formed by hand and was burned in the oven. The material used in this product is the silver and its making method is different from the traditional silvers and is fully hand made. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The circular form of this ring that represents the ring of light, can be easily detached from the main support and each of the two can be separately used. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: This project has been kicked off in 2020 and has been finalized in 2021 after producing the primary sample. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: This handmade piece is made of silver clay and it was made based on an innovative approach of forming and has been burned. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Necklace dimensions 5 x 1.5 x 0.4 cm Circle dimensions 3.5 x 0.2 cm TAGS: Memorial, Jewelry, Silver, Handmade, Necklaces RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Memorial piece is in memory of the devotions of the health sector warriors. They truly never gave up during the pandemic period of Covid-19 and they healed the wounds of the patients by dignity. The circular part of the necklace is a symbol of the light the surrounds the nurses whom have struggled during the Corona pandemic period to protect the lives of people and gave their lives in this path and the bandoleer on the memorial and the gemstones (jewel) on the base of this piece are the symbol of gratitude of the health and remedy staff. CHALLENGE: Design and making of modular piece that can be adjusted by the user. NAME: Atelier Sorouri PROFILE: Sorouri Atelier was established by Saloumeh Sorouri, member of the Industrial Design board at Islamic Azad University of Tehran (Central Branch), since year 1999 in Sari and then 2002 in Tehran, with the aim of gathering the renowned international designers, and commenced its artistic and cultural activities. Tutoring and instructing illustrious designers in the field of art and design-industry, jewelry, products, vehicles, interior design, et cetera, along with holding design workshops are some of her activities. In fact, the background of specific activities in artistic and cultural contexts was hierarchical in her family and passed one generation to another. |
