| DESIGN NAME: Z PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential Interior Design INSPIRATION: You will always remember the warmth of a hug from mom, no matter how far you go. The space is based on the cold tone of colors; however, we are still looking for a touch of warmth and smoothness, so as the inspiration of the arc of embrace from mom, we see us like a newborn watching the world in mother's arms while looking out, the world that we see might be the noise by the outside reality; turning inward, it may be a tender whisper that you can embrace immediately. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: You will always remember the warmth of a hug from mom, no matter how far you go. The space is based on the cold tone of colors; however, we are still looking for a touch of warmth and smoothness, so as the inspiration of the arc of embrace from mom, we see us like a newborn watching the world in mother's arms while looking out, the world that we see might be the noise by the outside reality; turning inward, it may be a tender whisper that you can embrace immediately. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The original layout of the living room was without daylight. The partition walls were removed and the layout was changed to allow sunlight to shine through the entire space. Excessive decorative materials and colors are discarded in the space to make it simple and comfortable to return home. The arc-shaped ceiling design makes people covered in the space and feels calm and warm. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Design started from November 2019 to January 2020. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Technical: Convergence of different materials, 3D arc ceiling design. Material: Marble，Terrazzo， SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 8287mm X 6853mm X 2700mm TAGS: Arc, arch, minimalism, streamline, penetration RESEARCH ABSTRACT: The definition of [home] is warm, quiet and safe. It mimics the protective nature of the mother's womb and provides a relaxing environment for body and mind. Gray tones can tolerate various colors, and the different gray materials is used as the space base. The texture of the material itself can increase the layering in space, abandon unnecessary decoration, making the home a relaxing meditation space. CHALLENGE: A. In order to make the arc-shaped ceiling achieve the soft vibe, the construction must be repaired repeatedly and then painted on color. B. Different gray colors’ materials in the same space, adjustment of proportion. C. Processing interface for connecting different materials.
