| DESIGN NAME: Denizbank Aquarium PRIMARY FUNCTION: Office INSPIRATION: Inspired by the relaxing effect of the water element and the colorful and always surprising world of the sea; It is aimed to create a space that makes users feel comfortable and keeps their motivation high. From the moment you enter the aquarium, you can feel the ocean feeling on all surfaces thanks to the acoustic panels depicting the sea and water movement, textured material choices that reference the colorful world of the submarine. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Denizbank Aquarium is an innovation and entrepreneurship center located at Denizbank Headquarters. Defining its journey as a venture with the metaphor of Aquarium, Sea and Ocean, all the needs of Denizbank in this place are combined with Kontra's design vision to create a new generation working environment. Providing a comfortable and unconventional atmosphere to the user in order to increase creativity and productivity in working environments is at the core of this design approach. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: - PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in December 2019 and finished in November 2020, and located at Denizbank HQ / Istanbul. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Contrasting colors are mixed with natural materials to create a vibrant and balanced space. Modules with low ceilings and isolated seating groups are designed to make employees feel cozier and more comfortable while increasing their sense of belonging to the company. The movement of the daylight plays an important role in the wellbeing of employees. Considering the fact that they spend majority of their day indoors for long hours; a lighting system that mimics the daylight has been designed in harmony with the motivation and circadian rhythm of the users. NAME: Denizbank PROFILE: Founded by DenizBank in an effort to contribute to the ecosystem by supporting its entrepreneur staff and external potential initiatives, Deniz Aquarium Innovation Center held cooperation with Istanbul Blockchain Technologies and Innovation Practice and Research Center (BlockchainIST Center) that was opened by Bahçeşehir University which marks a first in Turkey. Accordingly, studies will be carried out in ‘Blockchain Lab’ platform founded in Deniz Aquarium to design and launch the practices of Blockchain technology in the finance sector, increase the number of experts in the market and produce corresponding projects. Along with developing projects in the center involving expert figures from Turkey and the world, more efficient and secure practices will be developed in the finance sector, studies that fit the banking approach of the future will be carried out. Blockchain Technologies Practice and Research Center (BlockchainIST Center) started its activities in 2018 as the first Innovation and Research center founded within a university in this field which is a first time in Turke. Raising Blockchain experts as the contractor of “Istanbul Blockchain School” project of Istanbul. Development Agency in 2019, Blockchain IST also continues to provide education services with FinTech graduate programme. “Continuing the first academic researches in Turkey in the Blockchain Technologies field with “Tübitak 2244 Industry Doctorate Programme”, BlockchainIST Center carries out cooperations with a number of local and international institutions, provides consultancy service for its public institutions and contributes to determining the strategic targets and priorities of Turkey in the Blockchain technology. |
