| DESIGN NAME: The Grandeur of Bungalow in Penthouse PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential House INSPIRATION: The client is from Gujarati family, so his requirement was to have a home which reflects his way of living & lifestyle The first thing that catches your eye is the Pichwai art that spans an entire wall,followed by a striking wooden swing, these local elements make space contemporary with the essence of Gujarati culture. The entire east side of the house opens up by means of vertical fins, creating an aesthetic dance of shadow and light, whilst also it receives ample cross ventilation UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: It’s not every day that you come across a house that makes you wonder if you’re really amidst the hustle & bustle of a city life! The design reflect distinctive use of natural textures and palette ranging from beaten copper, traditional fabrics,polished & unpolished kota, exposed brick & concrete The house gives a sense of liveliness and comfort, with a hint of moody tones here & there OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: - PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The Project started in 2019 in Pune, India and finished in October 2020 facing the pandemic challenge successfully FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Interior Space and Exhibition Design |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Natural & local materials like Exposed brick, beaten copper, steel with raw look, natural wood etc. have been used, to complement these we have used pastel to vibrant shades, traditional fabrics are used through out the house. It is an inward looking house. Along with aesthetics, in entire house light & shadows create different dramatic effects through out the day and year. Proper cross ventilation is ensured keeping the house airy all the time SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: @3436 sq.ft. built-up area TAGS: Vibrant, Airy, Grandeur, Contemporary, Fusion RESEARCH ABSTRACT: - CHALLENGE: Since this is Penthouse, the other floors design was fixed, respecting the the structural designer who has already designed the entire building, we tried not to do any of the structural changes, yet east side fins, triple height central area, skylights and spatial planing of public area like living, dining, kitchen area is done ADDED DATE: 2021-02-22 11:51:53 TEAM MEMBERS (4) : Civil Work - Gokhale Constructions, Carpentry & false ceiling - Ramprasad Sahani, Textile Designer - Anupama Kabra and IMAGE CREDITS: Hemant Patil |
