| DESIGN NAME: Parachute PRIMARY FUNCTION: Wall Shelf INSPIRATION: When listening to Coldplay's first album, it suddenly occurred to me to look up the word "Parachute.&quo UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: When in use, the plank for the section being used falls, and hangs there. Your coat, your magazine... this protects them from falling. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: When in use, the plank for the section being used falls, and hangs there. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in April 2017 in Tokyo and finished in October 2018 in Tokyo, and Yusuke Watanabe was exhibited in Salone del Mobile in April 2018. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Parachute was made by sheet metal. With the colored stripes separated by thin spaces, the graphic design is reminiscent of a modern parachute; this theme is transformed, in a recognisable and aesthetically successful manner, into an original shelf design.
