INSPIRATION: Micromobility is booming fast, even the term itself has been in Wikipedia since 2017. But last mile solutions are already
disrupting urban life. According to McKinsey, in 2030 this industry will become a 365 Billion Euro (400 Billion USD) market with 30 Million new vehicles in our cities. E Bikes, e Mopeds, e Scooters etc., all looking for charging and parking. Duckt believe, as every transportation mode, ever expanding micromobility solutions also need a dedicated infrastructure.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Duckt is a universal charging infrastructure solution, where, you can dock, lock and charge any micromobility vehicle shared or private, regardless of model or make all-in-one unified solution with patented plug and play adapter.
Duckt helps cities create new revenue while regulate the shared micromobility space. To use Duckt, all you need to do is to push your vehicle in. In one second, stations recognize your vehicle, end the ride automatically, lock the vehicle and start charging.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: There is a simple key & lock relationship. Retrofit our adapters to the vehicles. When a vehicle with DUCKT adapter is pushed into a station: 1.The NFC on the station reads the RFID on the adapter, with this ID, ouR IoT stations communicate to the software provider of that vehicle. 2.Station let the operator know, which vehicle is where in which condition. 3.Station lock the recognized vehicle automatically. 4. End the ride and start charging automatically. All thiS process happens under 1 second.
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: Both in a 12 month(September 2019 - 2020) long PoC pilot in a campus area with an operator and laboratory test. Pilot program helped us improve the durability and design of the product and test the usability, also test outdoor conditions under snow and rain conditions. With the laboratory tests, applied our automotive experience to understand the limits in endurance and strength. The station passed all tests with flying stars and will define new security standards in micromobility.

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Duckt was produced Astm A36 Low-carbon steel. Also was coated with Jotun Super Durable 2901 Qualicoat Class 2 Powder Coating. This coating has Green Building Certificate. (Leed v4 and Bream) All mechanical system inside the station was produced stainless steel. The locking mechanism has crossed the 250.000 mark and is still under test.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: With corona and the existing trends micromobility is accelerating. New governmental incentive programs and new dedicated infrastructure is also fueling this trend. Especially a big demand on e-bikes following the cost reduction with high volume productions and technological development is increasing the portion of demand towards bike stations as well. More and more fleet operators are leaving behind the scaling race and moving towards sustainability and efficient unit economics. All these trends are creating a great market timing for our product & services.
CHALLENGE: Duckt have 4 key suppliers all inside Turkey. Duckt selected these suppliers from our automotive Tier1 experience. These suppliers deliver the sub-products to our 500 sqm final assembly facility. Duckt quality. Check, final assemble, test, package and store the final products and Duckt ship from our facility. This process is structured with. Our mass production experience and is crucial to our success in having the lowest price in the market yet have 45-50% profit margin in direct sales. All hardware and software is designed inhouse, patented and all trademarks and intellectual property are received from day 1.
