DESIGN NAME: Promising Ideas Innovation
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Animation
INSPIRATION: First of all, of course, it's very enthusiastic to produce such a public welfare video. We hope more and more people will pay attention to the problems that exist in the world and we need to lend a helping hand to those who need it.
At the same time, we refer to a large number of good science related animations and infographic animation, try to use the most acceptable form of expression to convey our ideas.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This short animation is creating for Unicef and Generation United, to explain how they’ve helped more young people connecting to the Internet, especially girls in remote areas.
Through animations, it compares the number of men and women accessing the Internet in developed and backward regions, and the problems this brings to women in backward regions.
The short animation was made to help to arouse the attention of more people.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The production of this animation is very meaningful for us.
We know that most people are not interested in lengthy reports, and it is crucial to turn boring data into comprehensible information.
We are glad we took on this challenge and finally completed it, and we hope that through our efforts, more people will pay attention to the issues expressed in the video!
PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in 2019 and finished in 2020 in New York.
FITS BEST INTO CATEGORY: Movie, Video and Animation Design

PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The whole animation can be divided into three processes, first is the script, by optimizing the script provided to us by Unicef, we have a general direction for the image we want to present.
Next, we started to design characters, scenes, and props.
After designing different versions, we settled on a final direction and proceeded to animate our design.
SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The whole animation is done entirely by computer. Thanks to many new technologies, we were able to complete many of the ideas that would have taken a lot of time in traditional animation. For example, the little girl in the picture was created through the rigging function in the software, so we were able to spend more time on designing a satisfying image.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: We know that making such videos can help more people care about the problems girls are facing. So how to get the message to people quickly became the most important goal.
To do this, we tried to change the information we got into a simple story, starting with a female character and talking about the difficulties she faces. And then clarify to the audience that there are millions of girls facing the same dilemma as her.
Finally, some very symbolic graphics or objects are used to show the audience how our help will affect them.
CHALLENGE: Converting large amounts of textual material into easily accessible animations is a difficult task.
Telling the audience a lot of data would make them lose interest very quickly, So we optimized the script a lot, making it possible to present a lot of narrative images in the end.
Not only that, but the transitions between each paragraph also need to be carefully thought out so that the final animation looks seamless and gives the audience a very smooth viewing experience.
These details took a lot of time but the result was well worth it.
