| DESIGN NAME: Urban Oasis PRIMARY FUNCTION: Lobby INSPIRATION: After the special 2020 #stayathome period, we all noted the importance of the "nature", "green". Therefore designer proposed the theme Urban Oasis for the lobby of office building. Office is not only the space for working, it should also for idea exchanges. Designer would propose more relax and cozy office lobby where people like to stay and enjoy. It also improved the work efficiently. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project is accessories design for an office lobby in Shanghai, China. Plants, fresh air and nature are all common elements during this special 2020 #stayathome period. Actually, we all need green and relax environment during our every working days. Designer speaially proposed "Urban Oasis" idea to this office lobby. People work here world pass through, stay or even work in this common space anytime. Office space is not only the place for working, the more important is sharing ideas with all t OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: In accessories setting, designer left the main circulation route for daily traffic flow. The remaining space was cleverly arranged by the designer with sofa, stone seatings and variety of plants. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Accessories used maily leathers on sofa, fabrics on seatings, glasses and metal on hanging lamps. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The lobby area is around 10m width and 35m depth. TAGS: #Forte, #lobby, #interior, #decoration, #martinchow, #hotkoncepts RESEARCH ABSTRACT: A it is the office lobby, designer worked closelly with the client about the function of the space. Designer would like to propose the space is not only a transitional space, it should be user friendly area where people like to stay and enjoy the green during the office-break hours. The designer spend much time to research the similar projects and explained to the client. CHALLENGE: In accessory design, designer do not want to over decorate. As the office lobby is quite big, the area is about 370sm. Finally designer decided to seperate into 3 parts, the front part with more casual feel. The stone seating is carefully arranged in fornt of the reception counter. The second part is the common area with the large oil painting as the focus. The people sitting around would have the focal point of the space. The last part is the lift looby with the feature hanging lights.
