| DESIGN NAME: Smart Clean PRIMARY FUNCTION: Beer Line Cleaning INSPIRATION: Current and most widely accepted method to clean beer lines is hiring a maintenance team so as to visit and clean all of them periodically.(min 1 time per 2 weeks) Nevertheless, it is prone to human error, and also lack of standardization and untraceable operations are other concerns. Smart Clean is the world's first AI powered portable beer line cleaning device. There is no necessity for maintenance teams because each pub can do their own beer line cleaning individually and more importantly, automatically. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Smart Clean conducts a unique line cleaning process for each beer line depending on the usage, beer type, cooling system and line length for maximum quality with minimum resources. Also, Pubinno’s Aqua Vibra technology shakes the line cleaning solution inside the beer lines from different directions for additional friction on the inner walls of the beer lines which allows to use less resources during the entire cleaning process. Aqua Vibra makes 80% more effective cleaning. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Smart Clean is a portable device which is located inside the bar, so there is no need for a third-party cleaning service to come in. After plug water and power input the bartender, just switches the input of the draft beer line from kegs to Smart Clean. Then, the bartender connects to the Smart Clean via bluetooth from application and all she/he has to do is press the start cleaning. Then, the whole process is carried out automatically for 4 lines at the same time according to the beer type, line and cleaning history in the perfect way. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in January 2019 in Istanbul and finished in October 2020 in Istanbul. It started to be used at 251 Pubinno bars in November, 2020. It will announce as an online product launch in April 2021 and exhibit BrauBeviale, Nuremberg in November 2021. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: Aliminium sheet metal forming methods have been used to minimize cost, such as laser cutting, bending, and welding. On top of hemming and cross bending; flanges have been integrated on critical sections of the design to minimize the wall thickness, while maintaining rigidity of the parts.Cleansing concentration is prepared precisely through dosage technology used in healthcare, and at the optimum level customized for each single beer line thanks to IoT driven database and AI algorithms SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: 500 mm x 350 mm x 350mm Device has 3 connection points; water entry, power plug and keg adapter sockets. Every connection port has been designed with a "plug & play" mindset, such that it takes 3 minutes to deploy a device and get it running; and 3 minutes to remove the connections and close the device once the operation is done. On the other hand, Smart Clean Validated in VLB Institute in Berlin,Germany TAGS: Artificial Intelligence, Automated, Beer-line Cleaning, Robotic, Portable, Compact, Plug&Play RESEARCH ABSTRACT: As a result of the user interviews, there is high level of dependency on 3rd parties and human touch and no place for large and built-in devices in the bars.That’s why Smart Clean designed portable, compact and fully automated. The prototypes was tested by 29 bartenders working different bars, and all these operations were videotaped. The parts that users have difficulty in understanding and using are redesigned. Finally, it was given to the use of a bar for 2 months and no problem was encountered. CHALLENGE: After Smart Clean, bartenders started to do what 3rd parties cleaning team did. This means an extra workload for bartenders. Therefore, in order for them to be satisfied with the Smart Clean It had to be a fully automatic, traceable, highly aesthetic, user-friendly and ergonomic product compatible with the bar environment. Besides all these, Smart Clean had to be designed as the most affordable solution among existing alternatives and compatible with 5 types of keg adapter commonly used in the world. Also some bars will use the Smart Clean in the cold storage, thats why handle is covered with leather to eliminate the cold metal feeling.
