DESIGN NAME: Environmentally Eclectic
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Residential Apartment Interior Design
INSPIRATION: Having lived in Australia, the designer is inspired by its eclectic styles and minimalist living environment. He incorporates various elements to achieve a design seldom found in Taiwan, which allows future clients to visualize his design concept. Environmentally friendly materials regulate air and humidity for a healthy living space, akin to the Australian outdoors. Earth-tone colors and wood further that feel, and the slanted ceiling and bunk bed design call to mind Australian camping cabins.
UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This modern, eclectic design selects environmentally friendly materials that also benefit healthy living. It brings together various elements to add softness and comfort to the dining room, creates an intimate bathroom and a playful camp cabin theme for the children’s room, and promotes feng shui and maximizes storage capacity throughout the residence. Wooden planks offer warmth, and cinder blocks allow interaction between rooms. Marble flooring enhances and visually partitions areas of space.
OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The interior design of this residence focuses on environmentalism. The types of materials, construction methods, and technology used all reflect the goal of protecting the sun, atmosphere, and natural resources. In addition to protection of the environment, the design also fosters a healthy living environment. The design utilizes advanced technology to ensure healthy air quality and water quality. Special paint regulates humidity and enhances lighting so that less wattage is required.

RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Destruction and carelessness by humans has resulted in global warming. Architecture and interior design inevitably play a role. How can design and nature coexist? Our basic obligation is to minimize any impact while also creating a safe living environment. Careful focus is placed on the scale of design, types of materials, and use of space. Eclectic style takes various elements and brings them together. Environmentalism and eclecticism shine in this design’s use of materials and unique vibe.
CHALLENGE: Designing the children’s room was a challenge. Children are very active, playful, and they grow up quickly. The designer thought of Australian wooden houses and camping cabins and created a slanted ceiling and bunk bed design. It creates a fun, lively feel that children adore. White paint reflects playful innocence and allows for easy repainting. The design of the bed area with its high ceiling allows for flexible redesign as the child grows older. Not only practical, it’s a perfect match.
