| DESIGN NAME: RZR Forklift Safety Light PRIMARY FUNCTION: Reduce Deadly Workplace Accidents INSPIRATION: Worldwide, forklifts are the leading cause of death & life changing grievous injuries in the workplace. Thousands die and tens of thousands are injured. Studies have shown that ~ 30% of industrial accidents involve a forklift. They are extremely heavy,have limited visibility,maneuvera UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Four new and unique forklift lights in one: Vertical, floor to ceiling work lights that will not blind pedestrians & other staff, as compared to the until now,industry standard repurposed automotive style work lights. The light beam pattern works on the same plane as a forklift, up and down, not side to side. Ceiling tracking lights so the heavy, mobile forklift is easily visible in the pedestrians peripheral vision. Red warning area projected in front of the forklift. Forward mounted strobe lights. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: This is a market changing safety light, where words are very difficult to describe what it does and the life saving benefits it offers. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The RZR Forklift Safety Light incorporates four never seen before LED lights and their related functionality. All in one unit. This marvel of optical engineering was made possible, aside from the vision of its designer, but also by the recent innovation of light beam modification and amplification via the uniquely shaped lenses. Also prevalent in the design was the heat dissipation characteristics via strategically placed heat evacuation channels and the use of brass components internally because of its better thermal conductivity properties. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Multi-voltage from 9 to 80 volt to fit the various and non-standard industrial electronic requirements. 17 high efficiency , super bright light emitting diodes. Deutsche connector for universal power supply and the ability to mount on the forklift via industrial grade magnets or brackets. TAGS: forklift, safety, led, lights, lighting, material handling, lift truck RESEARCH ABSTRACT: Created to fill a very needed space in the industrial world to help reduce deaths and life altering workplace injuries and at the same time, increase operator efficiencies with our vertical work lights, that cover the floor to the ceiling, the same area a forklift needs lighted. Historically, in the forklift world, repurposed automotive style lighting was used, which focused on the horizontal plane. Design started in Toronto , Canada in fall 2018, with the final product being offered in the spring of 2020. CHALLENGE: Knowing we had limited physical space on the forklift and limited power available was a very difficult challenge to overcome. However with the advent of stronger light emitting diodes, using less power and at the same time, the improved mass production capabilities of our magnification lenses being able to be housed in one single, compact housing and being priced extremely competitively, we were able to offer this industry changing light to our world wide customers.
