| DESIGN NAME: Adoring PRIMARY FUNCTION: Mobile App INSPIRATION: There are many dog owners who love dogs, but they don't know how to provide them with breeding programs, healthy bodies and socialization practices. Most dog owners tend to find mating partners for their dogs around themselves, which has a circle effect. The physiological characteristics, breed purity, and whether the dog meets the medical fertility standards have become important conditions to find the ideal mating partner. Most of the pet Apps in the market are about pet trading and pets care, but no Apps focusing on pet socialization practices and pet mating. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Adoring is a dog social network app designed to connect dogs and dog owners around the world, which integrates dog matching, rich dog knowledge and dog community. The key function of the app is to match suitable dog mate through information about location, breed, personality, habits, etc.. Dog owners can also use it to record their dog's growth, find friends for the dog, chat with other dog owners, share dog ownership experiences, and so on. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: Adoring has designed various tags for pet dogs, such as location, breed, personality, habit, etc. Dog owners can define their dogs' tags so that the other users can find their dogs. At the same time, pet owners can screen tags to find suitable mates for their dogs. In addition, it has an innovative chat feature that takes pets as its first point of view, as well as a community with extensive pet knowledge. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project finished in June 2020 in Zhejiang University. |
PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: 1. Design tools: Design research: situational interview, brainstorming, market research, mind mapping, etc. Prototype: Adobe XD. UX and UI design: Photoshop, Sketch and Figma. 2. Design thinking: Through emotional design and simple interaction, the APP provides a warm pet community for pet dogs and owners. 3. Key technology: Using the mature "tag based recommendation algorithm", we can find the most suitable breeding object and social partner for pet dog in a large number of tag data. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: Designed for the iOS System. TAGS: pet, pet dog, application design ,pet social RESEARCH ABSTRACT: In the user research phase, we interviewed several long term dog owners to get their real needs. In the market research phase, we read a large number of pet industry reports and found that most pet applications in the market are about pet trading and community pet sharing, but there is no application specifically for pet breeding and mating, and then we conducted competitive analysis and market research to create differentiated products. In the design phase, prototype design is carried out and several modifications are made according to usability test results. All in all, was to improve the overall user journeys of a pet owners. CHALLENGE: The most challenging part was to explore the feasibility of the App as there is little similar product in the market. We have to go through a lot of research and testing to prove the availability of the app. Further, it's also challenging to define dogs feature tags and improve user experience.
