| DESIGN NAME: 365 Studio PRIMARY FUNCTION: Beauty Saloon INSPIRATION: Rounded lines, plants, and green banisters look like a rippling ribbon in a rhythmic gymnast’s hand – 365 Studio looks like a pleasant and calm place. However the beauty industry is a complex of procedures which should be done exactly and accurately. It is like a pit stop in Formula-1 where a group of professionals do their job together so well-orchestratedly that it looks impressive even by side. UNIQUE PROPERTIES / PROJECT DESCRIPTION: It is a beauty studio with the possibility of parallel processes. Up to five masters can work with the client at the same time. Manicure, pedicure, hair dying, eyebrows and makeup can be done in one or two hours. Such an approach requires the perfect logic of the space where several masters do their work in one square meter. So the interior of 365 Studio is a celebration of ergonomics and thoughtful working process. OPERATION / FLOW / INTERACTION: The most challenging point in this project is ergonomics. We fought for every centimeter, we calculated the best swinging angle of the pedicure chair to let the client put their shoes off and on in the most comfortable way. We re-checked everything to make it comfortable for clients and masters. PROJECT DURATION AND LOCATION: The project started in July 2019 and finished in desember 2019. PRODUCTION / REALIZATION TECHNOLOGY: The key element of the project is the stair with a green steel banister. We had to cut out a part of the floor above and reinforce the building construction before it. 10 mm thick steel sheets for banister were cut and bent in advance to be welded on site. We built up a lifting tackle in the building which held every metal sheet and let weld them unsupported. After that we had all joints primed and moped like in automotive manufacturing. SPECIFICATIONS / TECHNICAL PROPERTIES: The project covers a total of 250 square meters. 365 Studio occupies some part of the ground floor and the first floor in a new building in central Kyiv. There are the main reception, a waiting room with a bar, wardrobe, a manicure hall, a sterilization room, and a roomy man zone with a separate entrance on the ground floor. The first floor has a female manicure and pedicure hall, makeup and hairdressing area, a VIP room, a kitchen and a relaxation space for staff, a sterilization room, and a color bar where hair dyes are mixed. A visit to a beauty salon is also scheduled in their life planner. They respect their time and demand a high level of service. That is why 365 Studio implemented parallel processes. It is important to make such an approach comfortable not only for customers but for masters who spend in the salon the whole day. Our aim was to create a space where the high quality of service goes along with high speed and maximum comfort. CHALLENGE: The crucial aspect of 365 Studio’s interior is its ergonomics and thoughtful logistics inside the space. The comfort of customers and masters is equally important. We calculated everything,evena correct swing of the pedicure chair by testing it on the real-size model so that a client can take off and take on their shoes in the most comfortable way. The separate line of their business is a product design. Bogdanova Bureau creates furniture for their own projects as well as cooperate with manufacturers in Ukraine and abroad. Their experience of cooperation with Ukrainian factories and organization exhibitions in France and Netherlands led the company to establish in 2019 a new service, the art-direction for Ukrainian brands. |
